An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Silicon Roundabout, East London’s Tech City
The UK tech scene is booming in London, and Silicon Roundabout – the start-up cluster in postcodes such as EC1V and N1, around Old Street Tube Station and a hop from Brick Lane – is its main hub. Here, you’ll find a range of co-working spots, as well cool places to eat, shop and sleep.
Entrepreneurial hotspots
1. Campus London
Building
Campus London is Google’s free space for the capital’s start-up community. It serves as a central locus for London entrepreneurs, organising free events and workshops and hosting Campus Residency, a 12-week programme for high-potential start-ups focused on machine learning. The ground-floor coffee shop is open to the public, but get here early – seats are picked up quickly by innovators and venture capitalists looking to spot the next big thing. Seed fund Seedcamp and Code First: Girls, which aims to increase the number of women working in tech, also occupy the building – making Campus a true one-stop shop for London’s innovators.
2. WeWork Old Street
Building
Located just off Silicon Roundabout, Old Street’s WeWork office space is home to entrepreneurs working on early-stage ideas as well as established businesses looking to expand their approach. The co-working community attracts companies of all shapes and sizes, and the site is perfectly situated at the heart of the Tech City buzz.
3. IDEALondon

IDEALondon is a post-accelerator centre for start-ups and entrepreneurs to grow and expand their business, from UCL Engineering, Cisco’s incubator and capital enterprise group and EDF Energy Innovation.

We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
