Socially distanced dating doesn’t get more idyllic than this new experience being auctioned off by Arosa Tourism, in Switzerland, as part of its Nights to Remember initiative.

Arosa, a popular holiday region in Switzerland, is home to the spectacular Tschuggen Grand Hotel, which sits on the shores of Lake Obersee. It’s here where couples looking for the ultimate in romantic getaways will be able to float off into the night on a purpose-built raft that comes complete with everything you need for the perfect candlelit dinner.

Nights to Remember – a Lake Full of Emotion is the creative solution the local tourism board has come up with to raise funds for local businesses and activities. The evenings will be held on 8 August, 21 August and 27 September 2020, and there are 50 picnic tables going under the hammer.

Each experience comes complete with a locally sourced hamper full of tasty delicacies and wine. Organisers have thought of everything to make the evening go smoothly, including childcare options available to those who need it.

Bidding starts from CHF500 (£420), which includes raft rental and a picnic for two adults. You can find out more details by visiting the hotel’s website, where information is due to be uploaded.

The luxury hotel and spa is part of a region-wide drive to encourage sustainable travel. In fact, Arosa aims to become one of the most sustainable destinations in the Swiss Alps.

The Sustainable Arosa 2030 strategy includes the promotion of regional products and local activities. All the profits from the Nights to Remember auction will go towards this eco fund.
